Produced in association with the SomaCow Media Network (see SomaCow.net), Prime Time Geek (PTG) is a weekly program broadcast live via Ustream.tv and later made available as a podcast on iTunes and right here at this site. Each week, PTG brings you news, opinions, and insights covering comic books, movies, TV, video games, and all else exciting in the realm of Geekdom.
And speaking of “thank yous”, two BIG ones that went unsaid during the broadcast and thus MUST be made here: Comic Book Alex of Ghost Shadow Studio, and the members of Sci-Fried for your constant support and promotion of Prime Time Geek amongst friends and fans, as well as your contributions to the program. You guys are awesome, I will certainly continue to sing your praises, and I wish you all the best as you carry on with turning your passion into your life’s work!
Hope you enjoy these final episodes – please don’t delete “Prime Time Geek” from your bookmarks, however! We’ll be around all throughout the summer with movie reviews, comics reviews, and sound clips from appearances on other podcasts, and keep following us on Facebook and Twitter for news, photos, and random bits of geek. We’ll be seeing you out there!
And while you’re listening, please head over to our Facebook page to check out more photos from Free Comic Book Day 2011 if you haven’t already. Enjoy!
It is with no small sadness that I announce that Episode 183, which will be recorded and broadcast from Heroes Landing in Clermont, Florida on Free Comic Book Day 2011, Saturday, May 7th, starting at 2pm, will be the final broadcast and recording of the show.
Thank you, to our regular contributors/colleagues Slacker and the Man, Talk Nerdy Show, and A.A.A. (Anime Addicts Anonymous) Podcast; to our sponsors/supporters Jeff Melvin of Comic Connection, and Stu Cohen and Todd Merrick of Heroes Landing; to our friends at MegaCon, Florida Supercon, and Anime Festival Orlando for allowing PTG to be a small part of promoting your events year after year; to Geoff and Jennifer Peace, without use of whose studio PTG would have never come to be or lasted this long, and of course to everyone who’s come to our live webcasts or downloaded our podcasts. Thank you for listening and for supporting the show in every way you have these past two-and-a-half years. It’s been a great ride, and I’m looking forward to going out with a great couple of hours this weekend, so come on out for Free Comic Book Day, grab your free books, meet the guest artists coming in, and if you’re so inclined, stop and say “Hello” to the guy in the back corner of the store with all the laptops and microphones. That would be me.
*The sound clips in the podcast version of this episode from “X-Men: First Class” come from the second released trailer for the film, which debuted online AFTER this episode was originally recorded. To watch that trailer, click HERE.

Guest TV Reviews: V: The Second Season (Stu); Justified (Stu and the Man); Young Justice (Stu and the Man)
Since this episode was recorded, there have been, of course, a number of updates on the topics covered – Wonder Woman’s costume has changed yet again, due seemingly to fan outcry; and Captain America: The First Avenger now has a full trailer online to view, and with full knowledge that a trailer can make anything look good, we here at PTG humbly submit that this trailer SHOULD put the doubts of all but the most dubious of skeptics and hardened of haters to rest. Check it out for yourself, if you haven’t already:
How do we as fans define a “successful” convention experience? Is a variety of programming options and activities necessary to maximize a convention experience?
Why is Florida not yet a destination for MAJOR comic-book/sci-fi/anime conventions?
One thing that Florida’s biggest conventions can improve upon.
