PTG Episode 79 is brought to you by SomaCow. Geoff Peace of SomaCow was kind enough to sit in for a spell during this hour and chat about how far we at PTG have come since that very first show we recorded back on December 27, 2008. As always when it comes to Geoff, it’s an insightful, funny, engaging chat, and I’m not just saying that because he was very complimentary to me (though that certainly means a great deal to me!). It’s also just a taste of what you can get if you check out his show, SomaCow, on Friday nights from 7-10PM and Sunday mornings from 10AM-12PM. Also in this hour, “Mad” Mario calls in to help me break down PTG’s Top 5 Video Games of 2009–even without looking at the image above, the selections should come as no surprise to anyone who’s been listening to the shows all year long. We also take some time talk about the Wii and what we’ve chosen to describe as “relationship-friendly” video gaming–you know, the kind that you can actually share with your girlfriend/wife/significant other who isn’t nearly the gamer geek you are with him/her actually enjoying it along with you. As usual when Mad Mario calls or visits, his wife Tobey the Warden Slayer adds her two cents as well, and it makes for good radio–trust me, you will enjoy!

We wrap the hour with a quick Blackest Night spotlight on two tie-ins to the series that came out last week, Green Lantern #49 by Geoff Johns and guest penciler Ed Benes, and Blackest Night: JSA #1 by James Robinson and Eddy Barrows, the writer-artist team that brought us the very-enjoyable Blackest Night: Superman tie-in series that wrapped last month. Good stuff all around–hope you enjoy!
