In addition to the return of the ‘Eat More Geek!’ segment, in this episode we spend time talking about the possibility of Joss Whedon writing and directing the upcoming Avengers film for Marvel Studios, which could be a VERY good thing or. as Kofi Outlaw in ScreenRant.com explains, could be a not so good thing. We here at PTG fall into conservatively into the “Wary of Whedon” camp, as Outlaw describes it, but for a slightly different reason, based on his history with the Wonder Woman film project and its producer, Joel Silver.

We wrap up the hour with our review of the eagerly-anticipated and already-controversial Kick-Ass, which does live up to the hype, no matter which hype you might be talking about. Ultraviolent? Absolutely. Politically incorrect? At almost every possible opportunity. “Morally reprehensible”, as critic Roger Ebert asserts? Possibly, depending on your taste for the edgier side of today’s fanboy sense of humor and satire, and about an 11-year-old girl groomed to be a killing machine by her only parental figure. Entertaining? DEFINITELY. Our review is spoiler-free, so do give it a listen even if you haven’t seen the movie yet. Enjoy!
