In this episode we share thoughts on the most recent Marvel movie casting news to hit the interwebs, most notably the casting of the new Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the reboot of the franchise by director Marc Webb. Actor Andrew Garfield got lots of press last week once the announcement was made, but most of us were left still thinking, “Yeah, but who is he?” To a lesser extent, the news of actress Alice Eve as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class also came with a more or less ambivalent shrug. Maybe once promo images in costume are released we’ll as a geek community be more excited, but for now, I think the feeling in general is, “Yeah, okay, what else ya got? … also in this episode, we review Merlin’s Season Two finale, “The Last Dragonlord”, along with the two episodes that preceded it, “The Witch’s Quickening” and “The Fires of Indirisolas,” as well as the most recently aired first-run episodes of Leverage, “The Inside Job” and “The Scheherazade Job.” We wrap with reviews of two “Heroic Age” tie-in issues from Marvel, Secret Avengers #2 (Brubaker, Deodato) and Thor #611 (Gillen, Elson).
